THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES TO SEE DENZEL WASHINGTON’S ‘FENCES’ MOVIE
Paramount Pictures, Ford Motor Company Fund, Values Partnerships and the Campaign for Black Male Achievement team up to host community screenings of Denzel Washington’s FENCES in 11 U.S. cities for families in need.
WASHINGTON, DC (December 13, 2016) – On December 14, 2016 families across the country will attend a free screening of Denzel Washington’s FENCES, starring Washington and Viola Davis. Community screenings will be held in 11 cities nationwide, hosted by Paramount Pictures, Ford Motor Company Fund, Values Partnerships and the Campaign for Black Male Achievement taking place ahead of the film’s nationwide release on Christmas day 2016. The community screenings were made possible with support from the Ford Motor Company Fund and will be held at 7:00PM on December 14, 2016 in Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Oakland, CA; Louisville, KY; Baltimore, MD; Milwaukee, WI; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Miami, FL; Omaha, NE; and Charlottesville, VA.
FENCES is directed by Denzel Washington from a screenplay by August Wilson, adapted from Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The film stars Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney. At the screenings, families who may not otherwise be able to see the movie will enjoy a special preview of FENCES, discuss its themes and learn about the #acrossthefence campaign. Launched on November 30, 2016 the #acrossthefence campaign encourages families to share photo, video, art, and other messages to loved ones on social media using #acrossthefence.
